The Pulsed Laser Terminal (PLT) module is the high-speed laser transmitter developed for Thales Alenia Space’s Optel-µ optical communication system.
The PLT has as special characteristics a reduced volume and energy consumption, which makes it interesting for optical communication systems designed for microsatellites that only have low mass and power margins.
The PLT subsystem has been developed/qualified for space applications (TRL 8) according to ECSS (ESA).
